Hotel Santo
Domingo is situated in a building that dates back some 400 years. The
Hotel is located in a small, quiet square in the very centre of Madrid,
close to Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, Teatro Real, and
the main shopping areas, restaurants, cinemas and theatres.
The Santo Domingo is a small but genuine "Museum" in which you will be
seduced by the most beautiful paintings, furniture, antiques from the
very first moment you arrive. The Hotel’s collection of Spanish
paintings from the 19th Century is unique in the hotel world. Painters
such as Esquivel, Madrazo, Esteve, etc…with works in Madrid’s most
famous museums (Prado, Romantic, Municipal, Fine Arts, Royal Palace,
Cerralbo, etc...) adorn the most charming areas of this very special
hotel. The personalised decoration of each and every one of its rooms
and bathrooms was featured in a twelve paged-article in the famous
decoration magazine “House and Garden”. The rooms of Santo Domingo have
all been decorated with very good taste and somewhat luxurious if you
may, with details that evoke a typical chic French decor, this is
something rarely found in city hotels in Spain, except in some of the
real expensive five stars. So if decor and location are important, this
is the place at an affordable price for the quality. |
