In 1998, Rona Mast joined the family business as a trained hotel expert in support of her mother Heidemarie Bareiss and now runs it for the second generation. In 2010 she married Karl-Eugen Engler, mayor of Badenweiler, and with Jakob, born in 2007, and Anna-Lena, born in 2011, the third generation is already practicing its first contact with the hotel world.

In 1967, the former Hotel-Pension "Siesta" with an area of 6000 square meters was acquired by the Mast-Bareiss family, who now run the Hotel Schwarzmatt as a sister hotel of the Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn. This year son Jörg saw the light of day. Mrs. Heidemarie Bareiss led the small pension at first alone and also acted at the stove of the house. Mr. Gerhard Mast was a graduate engineer in aircraft construction and was still working in his profession in the early days of "Siesta", but then came to Badenweiler to support his young wife.
The first construction phase took place in 1973, which also led to the renaming of "Schwarzmatt Hotel" to the district "Schwarzmatt." This year, daughter Rona was born, today's managing director, in 1983/84, a second major construction phase began: The Hotel-Pension "Siesta "was demolished and created a new hotel wing with rotunda architecture, including hotel lobby and underground parking.The property Akazienstrasse 3 with the stylish house Casa Rona was acquired in 2000 and allowed the subsequent merger of the two plots.
In 2005, the ground-breaking ceremony for the new sauna and wellness complex "Sano e Salvo" took place.
