Situated at the heart of the Estate, the sumptuously elegant Dimora Il Borro towers over the small medieval village. The historic villa, which was built in 1854 by the Hohenlohe Waldenburg family, passed to Duke Amedeo d’Aosta in the early 20th century, and finally to Ferruccio Ferragamo in 1993. It has been painstakingly restored to its former glory using authentic materials and retaining the architectural features typical of 19th century Tuscan villas.
Today the Dimora is an exclusive location for V.I.P.s, large families, events or meetings, with 10 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a meeting room, dining room, study, heated indoor swimming pool, gym, billiard room and sauna. In the Medieval Village, guests can find truly original products and take home a memento of this unique place. In renovating the original village, the Ferragamo family wanted to preserve the atmosphere of times past and the artisans’ workshops, where adults and children alike can learn the art of ancient crafts. The Corte contains a further two unmissable attractions, La Bottega, which carries a range of Il Borro products, and the Boutique, for surprising, stylish purchases.
The Il Borro Estate covers around 800 hectares, part of which is given over to cultivation, our animals, the nature reserve, accommodation and the wine cellars. However, there is also a large area of still pristine terrain to explore, country trails for bike or horse rides, tennis courts, a football pitch and a golf course for sports-filled holidays spent in the open air.
The Ferragamo family reopened the doors of the workshops in the medieval village to local artisans, who we can now see at work creating shoes, pottery, gold jewellery, paintings, hats and much more.
Il Borro guests can take part in hands-on activities organized in the artisans’ workshops, where they can watch the craftsmen at work and create their own small hand-made objects.
Workshops last about 2 hours, depending on the type chosen. Children can also take part in craft workshops organized especially for them.

Il Borro is located just 60km from Florence, 60km from Siena and 20km from Arezzo.
Exit Valdarno along the A1 motorway.
At the toll road continue towards Montevarchi and then towards Terranuova Bracciolini. Then continue on the provincial "Setteponti" to San Giustino Valdarno. After the village, take the first exit at the roundabout and after 1 km you will find Il Borro on your left.
