Il Pellicano is situated on the Argentario peninsula, Porto Ercole is home to one of the most luxurious and elegant hotels in Italy with endless sea views. A central building and various villas are tucked away in a vast Mediterranean garden. Paths wind their way from terraced patios to the swimming pool and private beach. Il Pellicano was built in the 60’s as a condominium; it is composed of a main building and several villas on a hill side. The villas were owned by celebrities and very wealthy people from Italy and other parts of the world. In the late seventies the property was all bought by its present owner, who owned one of the villas. He converted Il Pellicano into the high class hotel it is today. The rooms are in the main building as well as in the villas. But the Suites and Junior Suites are only in the villas. This property enjoys an enchanting sea view. But although Il Pellicano is right in front of the Mediterranean, there is no beach because all this area is reefs along the coast. There is a heated sea water swimming pool right by the sea. Nights at Il Pellicano are particularly enjoyable on the sea view terrace of the main building, with live music every evening (except Tuesdays). A wonderful couple plays the piano as well as other instruments and also, both sing very well.
