The company Valmont was founded in 1985 in clinic Valmont dedicated to wellness and health above Montreux and the lake of Genève. Situated in a breath taking landscape,the clinic was known for skin regeneration at the beginning. Based on this experience cell researchers developed molecular for skin regeneration – the birth of Valmont cell cosmetics. In our Argentum meeting room, we have more than enough space for your meeting with an area of 86 sq m (925.7 sq ft). It also serves as a breakout room. Warm ski boots, the latest ski outfits and only a short walk from the ski room to the slopes. Ski-in, ski-out - into one of the largest and most snow-capped ski areas in the Alps with snow covering the valley floor. Carving, snowboarding, ice skating, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, ice climbing. Limits tested down the “Streif”, the “Hahnenkamm” and through the “Mousetrap”. In winter, Das Tirol could not be in a better location, as you are only a few steps away from an entrance into the Kitzbuehel Alps with its 215 km of slopes – one of the largest in the region.

Hiking

Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol – Hiking Tip

An unforgettable hike involves a visit to Sintersbacher Waterfalls here in Jochberg. The falls are roughly 165 meters high and are

among the most impressive in all of the Alps. The tour starts at the end of Jochberg and tracks over the Triebweg to the falls.

The hike takes about one hour to complete. Afterwards, you can walk up to the Wildalm, where you will find delicious typical Tyrolean food that will give you power to begin

Biking

Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol in Jochberg is a member of the quality initiative of bike hotels. Therefore, it is the perfect location to spend a bike holiday in the Kitzbuehel Alps.

With about 820 kilometres and 33,000 elevation gains, the Kitzbuehel Alps are a true hotspot for mountain bikers. The track varies and can cater to beginners as well as mountain bike experts. With forest paths and other scenic pathways, the landscape is predestined for an adventure holiday such as mountain biking. Many huts and taverns invite guests to stop by, take a short break and enjoy typical and regional delicacies.

The Kitz Alp Bike  takes place in the Kitzbuehel Alps, which is a perfect place for such events.

The highlight of this event is the Kitz Alp Bike Marathon with more than 1,000 mountain bikers. The tour brings mountain bike experts through the Fleckalm Trail, which is a special challenge. The path guides the bikers from the mountain station of the Fleckalmbahn through the woods down to the valley station of Fleckalmbahn.

Kitzbuehel is the starting point for the Tirol bike tour, which is the longest mountain bike course in the Alps.

With more than 32 stages, bikers are able to explore the Tyrolean landscape on their bikes.

WILD ANIMAL PARK - PRESERVE

DISCOVER THE WILDLIFE OF THE BEAUTIFUL ALPS IN THE WILD ANIMAL PARK

The Wildpark Aurach impresses with its unique location and panoramic views to the Kitzbühel Alps and its animal inhabitants: red deer, fallow deer, muffle deer in Tyrol's largest open-air enclosure, as well as ibex, lynx, yaks and many other animals. The impressive animal feeding at the large feeding area takes place daily at 2.30 pm.

A highlight for children is the "Streichlstadl": goats, donkeys, sheeps, llamas, Shetland ponies, rabbits and guinea pigs all live together. Furthermore, the children can play at the large playground located in the “Wildspielpark”, on which everything is around the mascot “Willi Wildschwein”.

After a round tour, you can pamper yourself with regional products in the cozy Gasthaus Branderhofstube and enjoy the mountain scenery.

Animal feeding occurs daily at 2:30pm (except for the rutting season between mid-September and mid-November).

The park is 3 km (1.86 miles) north of Jochberg in the direction of Kitzbuehel. Follow the B-161 in the direction of Oberaurach and look for the signs to the Wild Animal Park.

"KUPFERPLATTE" COPPER MINE IN KITZBUEHEL

THE RIDE INTO KUPFERBERHAUS JOCHBERG’S PAST BEGINS: “GLÜCK AUF!”

In Jochberg mining was mentioned in 1447 for the first time in history. In 1830, 16 km of track and 2 km of shafts were laid out in a staggered section. At the flowering time, 134 t of copper ore were extracted over a length of 30 km. 160 workers found work here. Until 1874, the ore was also smelted in Jochberg. On July 31, 1926, the last layer was driven and the company stopped operation in the "copper plate".

In 1990, the "Schaubergwerk Kupferplatte" was built in the old "Erbenollen", a 500-m pit track.

Mining traditions are appreciated and lived here every day. Not only is the work done regularly in the tunnel, but the "mountain" trail is also closer to the entrance to the "Erbstollen". 10 stations explain the Jochberg copper mining from the Middle Ages up until today. Inside the tunnel the tours are becoming even more exciting and informative for visitors through new multilingual multimedia and audio technology. Grab a helmet and off you go - with the old pit railway, visitors can enter a tunnel length of 150 meters and find out interesting details about mining, tools and mountain knights.

A GREAT BOTANICAL DIVERSITY IN KITZBUEHEL

More than 300 plant species from all over the world make the Alpine Flower Garden a unique botanical sight. According to experts, the garden is one of the most beautiful in the Alps. In an area of around 20,000 m² at a hight of 1,880 meters, it gives impressive color accents to the breathtaking alpine panorama.

The alpine flower garden is well signposted with information boards and not only native plants have roots there. Also botanical specialties from all countries are now in this unique garden. This is the work of Eva and Toni Hofer, who have been responsible for the care of the magnificent alpine terrain since 1985. The two have traveled around the world to settle rare plants from the Caucasus, the Andes, the Pyrenees or the Himalayas.

SCHWARZSEE LAKE IN KITZBUEHEL

ONE OF THE WARMEST AND MOST BEAUTIFUL LAKES IN THE ALPS

The idyllic lake is situated at the edge of town and the water has powerful healing properties due to the high content of moor in the water. Furthermore, the 15-hectare (37.1 ac) big lake is one of the warmest and most beautiful swimming lakes in this area. 

In the quiet atmosphere, the Schwarzsee offers a unique atmosphere to explore the lake with a row or electric boat.

Especially in summer, the Schwarzsee is the perfect location for swimming, fishing, hiking or jogging through the obstacle course.

MUSEUM KITZBUEHEL

The Kitzbühel Museum is located in the former municipal grain box, which dates back to the 18th century. When visiting the museum, you will pass through various phases of the construction of the historical walls, an excursion through the centuries - from the romance to the 20th century. The Kitzbuhel Museum not only provides history and culture of the region but also political and economic events in Kitzbuhel. Mining, old craft, everyday life, faith and winter sports are just some of the special topics.

A special highlight of the museum is devoted to the famous Kitzbüheler artist Alfons Walde (1891-1958). In the 250 square meter "Alfons Walde" collection, his work is depicted in 60 paintings and over 100 graphics, photographs, drawings and much more. Walde was not only a great painter, but also an architect, designer and graphic artist.

MUSEUM VORDERKÜNSTLER

BERGBAU- UND HEIMATMUSEUM

The museum is devoted to the life and work of the miners and peasants in the past. You can see among others, functioning grain mills from 1770, a loft with a 200-year-old loom, a shoemaker's cloak, a saddlery workshop, large agricultural equipment and Jochberg's first sports cable car. There is a good insight into the historical past of Jochberg.
