The Kingsley Hotel, Victoria
Cross, is spreading its wings… It’s the new Luxury five star Hotel for
Cork.
€30 million is being invested in developing the hotel to position it as
a world class five star hotel. The facilities will include 131 deluxe
bedrooms and suites, a 2500 square meter presidential suite, 18 two
bedroom luxury apartments, state of the art conference and event centre,
a spa, leisure centre, underground parking and extensive options for
dining. The first phase of the extension will be complete in Spring
2006.
The bedrooms, designed by international designers GA will be among the
largest and most luxurious rooms in Cork. Facilities include marble
bathrooms, separate walk in showers, duck down duvets, espresso makers,
integrated entertainment system and complimentary wifi access.
The Kingsley Hotel is owned by local businessmen Tom Kelly & Tom
McCarthy. It is located just over a mile from the city centre in a
tranquil location overlooking the river Lee. The hotel has been in
operation for seven years and in that time won numerous awards including
Jameson Business Hotel of the Year 2004 and RAC Blue Ribbon winner
2004/2005.
The Yuavana Spa (fountain of youth in the hindi or ayurvedic language) will
be a first of its kind for Cork with its specially designed thermal
suite and twelve treatment rooms. The quality of treatments will be its
cornerstone. The facilities will include a Tepidarium (relaxation area )
with heated ceramic loungers located around a central water feature, a
Heat Light Therapy room, a Spa Pool, a Haman steam bath, tropical rain
and spray mist showers, caldarium steam baths and a laconium sweat bath.
The Health Club will be one of the finest health clubs in Cork offering
a full range of facilities. Among the first for Cork will be a spinning
studio, a full range of classes included in membership fees, a kinesis
studio and a Golf exercise specialist where special trainers shall be
qualified to assess golfers from a physiological viewpoint with the
ability to programme activity and exercises to promote performance of
the golfer. |
