Main House |
|
|
|
On entering
by the main door there is a 17th-century, English clock
- with 16th-century workings - and an 18th-century sofa.
The paintings and the colourful coats of arms on the
ceiling take us back in time to the origins of the house.
The rooms of the manor house have been named after the
Varela family members who have lived here.
All rooms have full en suite bathrooms, music, telephone
and TV. |

The Chase |
|
|
|
At the end
of the stables was the housekeepers' house. This small,
two-storey building is the most typical example of
everyday life in the Galician countryside. It owes its
name, La Caza (The Hunt), to the fact that from the
house you can see the mountains where hunting was
practised.
Present-day facilities include the welcoming "lareira",
a fireplace of yesteryear, a room on the ground floor
and two on the first floor.
The rooms are decorated with warm colours to reflect
their homely feel.
The rooms are named after the mountains you can see from
them: |

|
 |
|
Arxeo |
|
|
|
· Arxeo: ground floor
· Gorgullón: first floor
· Rego da Roza: first floor
From the windows you can see a strong, centuries-old
chestnut tree, the farm land and listen to the gentle
babble of the River Arxeo that flows alongside.
All rooms have full en suite bathroom, music, telephone
and TV. Double rooms. |

The Gallery |
|
|
|
On the upper
level of the main house you find the current gallery,
the old stables of the estate, which have been
completely refurbished, and converted into rooms full of
personality.
Each of the rooms is dedicated to a woman married to a
male member of the Varela family. The decor is in
keeping with the tastes and interests of these women who
left their mark on the manor house.
All rooms have full en suite bathroom, music, telephone
and TV. |
