ABOUT HONFLEUR |
| |
|
The
old docks and alleyways of Honfleur are located five minutes away by
foot.
Whether you want to stroll around the historical centre of town,
visit the numerous local art galleries and museums, tan at the beach
or discover the Côte Fleurie (Flower Coast), the Pays d'Auge or the
beaches where the World War landings took place, you will feel right
at home.
Here you will find France's largest church built out of wood with a
separate steeple dating back to the XVth and XVIth centuries.
Along the Côte Fleurie, Eugène Boudin had a decisive influence on
the school of impressionism, a museum having been dedicated to him
in Honfleur, a city of art. The writer Alphonse Allais and composer
Erik Satie were also both from Honfleur. Painting, literature,
music...the town has witnessed the birth of many a great talent. |
