Tis the starting point for
various takes on the Hydrokinesis® method, part of a research
project of the University and Hospital of Padua, subdivided to
cover the following areas: |
 |
|
Hydrokinesis Area, Rehabilitation in thermal water.
Immersion in suitably thermal water cooled to 30-35° combines
the myo-relaxing and pain-relieving effect typical of its
chemical composition with the dynamising effect triggered by the
many micronised hydrojets and the relevant mixer taps located
around the side of the pool. The result is extremely pleasant
global hydrotherapy, which makes it possible to speed up
recovery periods, reduce painful symptoms and reflexive muscle
contractions. Two pools have been conceived to satisfy the needs
of patients wanting treatment in a private environment, which is
indispensable for those with particularly difficult illnesses.
Rehabilitation for circulatory and lymphatic disturbances of the
lower limbs, on the other hand, is carried out in swimming pools
with contrasting depths and variable temperatures. Each session
in the water is monitored with a special cinematographic video
system placed in certain parts of the pools which allows the
patient to self-correct the prescribed movement and thereby
perform it correctly. Access into the pools has been designed
specifically for persons with restricted mobility, and includes
a mechanical device which helps patients to get into the pools.
A team of therapists is always on hand for the patients, who are
closely supervised throughout each stage of the treatment. |
|
Kinesitherapy Area and Motor Recovery.
Kinesitherapy treatment
of passive and active mobilisation is carried out in the gym
along with treatments for functional and postural re-education,
and sessions to build up muscles with highly technological
equipment. All the treatments are performed by the
rehabilitation therapist. Staff members are also specialists in
neurological illnesses and treatments for lymphodemas. Under the
guidance of the personal trainer, guests do preventive
gymnastics for the cervical and lumbar spine, for the shoulders
and limbs. |

Physical Therapy Area. A department where
magnotherapy, ultrasound therapy, electrotherapy for pain relief,
high power laser therapy, electrostimulation of muscles and
ionophoresis are performed… all for treating many inflammatory
and painful illnesses, an integral part of the Hydrokinesis®
rehabilitative protocol.
Thermal Area. Mud therapy,
balneotherapy, inhalations and aerosol therapy, mud therapy for
treating sinusitis, variable pressure hot-tubs, a thermal cave
with vaporised water and a course through thermal water: a wide
range of treatments arise when water meets earth in the muds of
Abano, a natural medicine for thousands of years. |
