In keeping with Beaulieu-sur-Mer, La Reserve breathes the sweet Mediterranean way of life. It is above all a byword for luxury and relaxation. The hotel staff consists of 130 persons dedicated to the tranquillity and pleasure of the guests.
Under the guiding hand of the Delion family, which has owned the premises since 1997, the pink palace has come into its own, embodying the art of the welcome in a spirit which is both luxurious and discreet, in perfect harmony with the unique natural setting.
La Reserve was founded in 1880 by Pierre Lottier, a restaurant owner from Nice. It began as a luxury seafood restaurant, and “La Reserve” was the nickname given to the live fish tank which Pierre Lottier had dug out in order to stock the local fishermen’s catch.
In 1905, La Reserve de Beaulieu added some ten prestigious rooms reinforcing its status as preferred destination of the world’s aristocracy flocking to the Cote d’Azur.

Aristocrats, captains of industry and artists used to meet up at La Reserve : King Gustave V of Sweden, King Leopold II of Belgium, Leo Tolstoy, Sir Thomas Lipton, Gustave Eiffel and Mistinguett to name but a few.
The American press magnate and sports lover Gordon Bennett Jr became a great habitué of La Reserve and promoted it in his newspaper, The New York Herald.
He gave the palace a unique window on the world by furnishing it with the first telephone number (04 93 01 00 01) and by encouraging road and local transport infrastructures.
La Reserve lived through the Belle Epoque, the Great War, the Roaring Twenties…
At the end of the Second World War, the new owners built a large Florentine style villa adjoining the restaurant’s veranda.
A charming little resort ideally located on the Mediterranean littoral, Beaulieu-sur-Mer is only a few kilometres from Nice and Monaco.

Beaulieu-sur-Mer is a symbol of Provence and its culture, with its narrow lanes and typical markets, the Sancta Maria de Olivo chapel where numerous artists expose their work, the Berlugan Heritage Museum. The town’s architecture also takes you back to the Belle Epoque and includes the Villa Kerylos.
This exceptional villa, completed in 1908, the only one of its kind, is a faithful reconstruction of a sumptuous Ancient Greek residence. Beaulieu-sur-Mer has a large world-famous marina with room for nearly 800 boats, making it one of the busiest harbours on the Cote d’Azur.
The quality of the sea is excellent, the beaches at La Petite Afrique (Little Africa) and la Baie des Fourmis, as well as the small picturesque harbour round off the portrait of this charming Mediterranean destination.

The Billiard and Reading Room are a converted former smoking room in the English style.

LE BISTRO DE LA RÉSERVE: QUALITY CUISINE SERVED UP RAPIDLY.
Sample and savour the delights of summer dishes in this magnificent bistro on the French Riviera. Here you will find seasonal vegetables marinated in olive oil, accompanied for example by anchovy fritters or a rabbit terrine with wild basil or the famous mini Napolitaines or Bresaola pizzas and a variety of pastas are also on offer . There is a selection of fish and meat as well on the menu. The incontestable cheeseboard and the dessert trolley will be presented at the end. All at very reasonable prices !

A UNIQUE SENSATION OF FRESHNESS
Our summer restaurant owes its evocative name to a boat which used to connect Nice and Beaulieu towards the end of the nineteenth century.
It gives onto the swimming pool and La Reserve’s little private dock, and has a very fine terrace reaching the water where our guests can happily enjoy the sunshine in a peaceful relaxed holiday atmosphere.
OPENING
A MOOD OF CAREFREE TRANQUILLITY
The bar, named in honour of one of La Reserve’s legendary personalities, was conceived in British style with its decorative woodwork and panelling.
A sort of antichamber to the gastronomic restaurant, in fine weather the bar opens onto the large landscaped patio.
La Reserve’s resident pianist, Dennis Levingstone, adds to the area’s warm atmosphere with his light notes and rhythms throughout the day.
You can enjoy a wide range of drinks and cocktails, including a selection of the best champagnes (Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle, Dom Perignon) and spirits (whisky, rum, vodka, calvados, cognac, armagnac, etc.)
Our cigar selection will allow smokers the possibility of sending off a few elegant plumes in the hotel’s interior garden.
The pool bar offers an idyllic setting right on the water, enjoy a moment of relaxation.
