Le Jardin des Sens is a hotel
with a great restaurant. The restaurant is clearly what people come for,
doesn't look like it from outside. Building is a rather stark grey and
looks like an old theatre or cinema. It's about a 25 minute walk into
the centre of Montpellier. The dining room is all glass and surrounded
by a wonderful Japanese style garden which is floodlit at night. If you
get the option and the evening is warm, opt for an aperitif or coffee
afterwards in the garden under huge canvas parasols.
From an extremely contemporary approach, the place expresses, above all,
a true art of living. The little living room next to the reception has
the cosy aspect of beautiful English homes: couches, coffee tables,
plaids lying on armchairs and large windows on the garden. Bedrooms and
suites are designed with refinement and give a unique and elegant
atmosphere that some guests are fond of. Mahogany floor, desks set
behind bed heads for certain rooms, comfortable armchairs, linen
bedspreads, little ambiance lights, foot stools make the room an ideal
place for cocooning. The furniture was designed specially by Bruno
Borrione. Television and mini bar are integrated in lovely cupboards
hiding functional but often useful elements. As here comfort rimes with
pleasure, you can enjoy the benefit of relaxation with an eleven meters
long swimming pool and a hot tub. |
