The Hotel Leonor de Aquitania is
like another “Casa Colgante” (hanging house) which are ever so famous in
Cuenca. Why? Because this hotel, built in the nineties, was accomplished
by transforming an XVIIIth century Palace right at the edge of the
Huecar Canon enjoying that marvelous view admired by every visitor to
Cuenca.
The Leonor de Aquitania is completely new as far as the construction
goes, but the good taste and savoir is present everywhere, from the
entrance to the cave restaurant downstairs and naturally in every
bedroom. A decoration in enchanting light pastel colors that provides
just the right feeling to admire the spectacular views and cherish the
memories of having visited this World Heritage city. Naturally room wise,
we recommend one with view to the Hoz del Huecar (the cannon of the
river Huecar), but every room is just as nice and if you are traveling
in family or simply two couples who would not mind sharing the bathrooms,
their Quadruples as they call them, are definitely a bargain. Then there
is the suite, only one, with a king bed, a Jacuzzi and a terrace
overlooking the cannon, what a view!.
Of course, Hotel Leonor de Aquitania is a non expensive option to
stay in the stony city of Cuenca. Very good value. |
