The village of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres
located between Provence and the Cevennes, is
itself a shrine of history. A picturesque typical medieval village, of which,
its Romanesque church, fortified by Pope John
XXII, the keep (feudal), the Ribas Tower and the
remain of the ramparts testify to a rich history
in ancient centuries. At the Tourist Office, you
will find a model of the town, recreated
from archives, representing the site as it would
have been in the Middle Ages up to the mid-17th
century.
The maze of passages, alleyways and small
squares offer visitors an attractive touristic
site. In addition, music lovers will enjoy the numerous
cultural events that are staged there. Visit Avignon, Nimes, Arles and the many
attractive provencal towns and villages in the area. |
