Next to Lodole Country House is located The Molino del Piero Golf Club, a technical 9 holes course about 25 km from Bologna, founded in 1991. Despite the large fairways there are a number of small and quite tricky greens which makes for an enjoyable game, even for experts. Thanks to a favourable climate, with a breeze in the summer and little snow in the winter, it is possible to play and enjoy the wonderful views all year round - the only disturbance being the occasional fox or deer. The slope leading to the first holes, which depart steeply from the Savena Valley, has been called the "stairway to heaven" in a number of international golf magazines. The splendid Club House is in an old converted mill which features huge oak beams and large fireplace which lends a warm and welcoming atmosphere. |
