Hotel Louis C. Jacob

 Elbchaussee 401-403 22609 Hamburg − Germany

Member of Leading Hotels of the World

Guests to the Hotel Louis C. Jacob tend to return, Jacob is like a second home. The 5-star hotel in Hamburg is a sanctuary in the midst of the city – charming and with a serene Hanseatic appeal. A genuine piece of Hamburg. With a stunning view of the Elbe. And from room service to cuisine, guests can expect the very best.

The way to our 5-star hotel on Elbchaussee in Hamburg is similar to a sightseeing tour: Aristocratic-looking villas and properties line Hamburg’s prosperous boulevard. Elbchaussee links the city with Hamburg’s top residential neighbourhoods. Right up to Blankenese. Skirting the Elbe all the way. The unspoiled view of the Elbe from Hotel Jacob in Nienstedten is sensational, especially from the famous Lime Tree Terrace.

It’s only a stone’s throw away from Nienstedten to the lively, hip neighbourhood of Ottensen. But areas like Altona, St. Pauli or the city centre are quick to reach. Finkenwerder is also very close to our hotel. In just seven minutes the ferries at Teufelsbrück will take you across the Elbe to the Airbus plant’s jetty. The aerospace plant in Finkenwerder on the other side of the Elbe is never out of sight. As long as a gigantic cruise ship passing by doesn’t block the view.

Once you’ve arrived we pull out all the stops to ensure you feel at home with a personal welcome card or your Jacob hot-water bottle on cold days. These thoughtful little gestures and large walk-in wardrobes make our 85 uniquely designed hotel rooms and suites in Hamburg a really special experience.

Jacob's Restaurant

2 Michellin Stars

Jacob's Restaurant with its view of the Elbe: Nowhere else offers two-star cuisine in such a relaxed atmosphere.

The new Jacob’s Restaurant

Thomas Martin and his team will continue to interpret original French haute cuisine in their own inimitable way. The menu will be based on superior, regionally sourced products, prepared with precision and contemporary techniques.

The main product is the star, with appetising sauces to accompany it. The result is a dish bursting with taste.

A contemporary, easy-going atmosphere

No special occasion is required to visit Jacob's restaurant – here a typical evening can become a truly special one. The new Jacob’s Restaurant is a relaxed place to be for that special day in your life, or if you want to just pop in for a main course and dessert.
Reservations are appreciated

Menu and wine list

At Jacob's Restaurant you can choose from set menus or à la carte – just as you like. The menu also includes superb recommendations for wine to go with the new dishes. And of course, we still have a vast selection of exceptional wines which Sebastian Russold and his team would be happy to recommend to you.

Style of cuisine

The style of cuisine adopted by Jacob’s Restaurant is deliberately one of simplicity, or less is more, in stark contrast to current trends. The concept is to serve premium-quality food that guests can recognise at first glance. Thomas Martin's cuisine is not about abstract art or science, but about the ingredients' original taste.

“My dishes are a case of what you see is what you get, with full focus on the taste. Our vision is to concentrate on the essentials without any unnecessary frills. In the new Jacob’s Restaurant, guests will be able to experience simplicity at its best,” explains Thomas Martin.

“Simplicity at its best” is also the service team's slogan. Workflows are more natural and more relaxed, without compromising on high quality. "Our greatest strength is the warm and professional way we look after guests,” comments restaurant manager Riccardo Löffler. The service team is now also supported by Thomas Martin and his chefs, who like nothing better than to serve the odd course occasionally in person.

  • Sebastian Russold

Always in search for the best wines for you is our chef-sommelier Sebastian Russold. Born in Graz he’s been a member of Jacob’s sommeliers team since 2016 and is happy to excite you with his wine recommendations!

  • Thomas Martin

Born in Mannheim, Thomas Martin has been chef de cuisine at Jacob's Restaurant since 1997. Even after just under 20 years, he repeatedly finds new ways of teasing the maximum taste from the ingredients used. His down-to-earth, modest manner is similar to that of the locals.

  • Riccardo Löffler

Riccardo Löffler learned his profession from scratch at Jacob’s restaurant. To our great delight he returned to Jacob’s restaurant after having spent a couple of years in Dresden. Today our restaurant manager enjoys making your visit a memorable and unique experience.

Wine Cellar

Variety is the spice of life: We present four new wine-growing areas from German-speaking countries every three months in our award-winning wine bar. Savour fine wines and food from these regions.

The Lime Tree Terrace

The famous Lime Tree Terrace was created back in 1791 by Daniel Louis Jacques. Today it's considered Hamburg's most attractive café. From April 2018, in addition to coffee and homemade cake, you can also savour hearty dishes and take in a fabulous view of the ships passing by.

Bar & Loby

Jacob's Bar is the perfect place for a drink – and will be open again after the kitchen renovations from April onwards.

Tasty treats, excellent drinks and inspiring chats in our bar and lobby – day and night.

From April onwards you can again enjoy lovely snacks in our cosy living hall, read a good book or simply enjoy your time off.

This is the only way you can know exactly what room types are available for the dates you want, and the best possible rate, because you are dealing directly with the hotel.
Bear in mind that websites set up to give an automatic answer, work with allocated quotas given by the hotel, therefore when it appears there are no rooms available for the date you want, this is not necessarily true, because they never allocate ALL the rooms to third parties.
