Le Manoir Saint Thomas was
formerly a 12th century Priory, founded by Hugh 1st, the Lord of Amboise.
The house has many old fireplaces in wood, stone and marble. In the old
priory all the windows have stained glass and there are winged dragons
on the gables. The 15th century turret is in the North-East corner of
the Manor and on the ceiling of the drawing room you can see the
signature of one of the painters of 1887 – “RIPAULT”. Le Manoir Saint
Thomas stands in a garden of about 2,000 square metres at the heart of
the town of Amboise. Relax in the shade of our silver-leaved, hundred
year old lime trees and admire the statue of “Meditation”, dating from
about 1800, which stands in the middle of the garden. To the side of the
garden is a gravelled parking area where you can park your car securely.
Also, Le Manoir Saint Thomas offers our guests luxurious bedrooms, very
comfortable, each one different and all beautifully decorated. |
