ABOUT LE BUISSON DE CADOUIN |
|
|
|
Le
Buisson de Cadouin is situated at the crossroads of the
département’s main towns, the historical and tourist sites of the
‘Périgord Pourpre’ and the ‘Périgord Noir’ and of‘ Bastide Country’.
The town itself has developed around the train station and its
railway network linking Bordeaux and Sarlat, Paris and Agen.
At the 1999 census the commune counted a population of 2075 who live
at Cubans (once a port village on the Dordogne River), Cussac (perched
on the hillside) and the town centre, the economic hub of the
commune and indeed of the "Community of Communes". Le Buisson de
Cadouin is also a cultural centre with a forward-looking, active
library and an arts cinema. |
