De Haan is an
important seaside resort in Belgium. Although the
erosion of the beach can threaten its tourist and
recreational function, and a severe regression of the overall
beach/dune profile has been observed after repeated
storm surges, it has developed as a summer retreat. Many
resorts and water parks have been built with a vast range of
activities and amenities for special vacation for all the
family.
Its most famous resident was
Albert Einstein,
who lived there for six months in 1933 after leaving Nazi
Germany |
