The owners of two well known
hotels in Normandy, la Ferme-de-Saint-Simeon and La Chaumiere, purchased
a nearby manor to expand their business. This new property is Le Manoir
du Butin, very near the other two. They opened it within the same style.
It is in a floral park, situated on top of a hill, from where one can
enjoy the tranquility and peace of a countryside manor while overlooking
the harbor entrance of the port of Le Havre. The manor has only nine
rooms and a gourmet restaurant. Each one of the rooms is different and
all are nicely decorated. The rooms on the front enjoy the view of the
harbor entrance. Watching the big vessels come in and out of the port is
without doubt an unparalleled view. Also, from the terrace of manor
where they serve diners in summer, you can enjoy the harbor view. The
Manor du Butin dates from the XVIIIth century and is only 3 minutes from
the beautiful town of Honfleur, one of the most picturesque in the north
coast of France, originally a “Port de Corsaires,” from where these
“authorized pirates” set off to sea, to overtake the ships passing
through the canal of La Manche on their way to several destinations such
as, the Netherlands, Germany and many others. |
