From the first hole of the San Domenico Golf Corse, one can already
catch a glimpse of a red tower in the distance, which stands out against
the intense blue of the sky and the sea that surrounds it.
One is driven by curiosity while approaching it and only at the 8th hole
you reach it. It is he Masseria Cimino, a 18th century building, now
consigned to San Domenico Golf as its guest House, for those passionate
golfers who can’t envisage being too far away from the course.
The Masseria has 15 rooms, some of which are located in the ancient
tower and others in the old farmhouse adjacent to the archaeological
site, which has just recently been unearthed and which form part of the
slaves’ dwellings in the ancient city of Egnatia. The walls of this
ancient city form part of the boundaries of this property.
The rooms have been furnished in a fresh Mediterranean style and are
equipped with flat screen TV, minibar, safe and all have individually
controlled air conditioning and marble bathrooms.
Some of the rooms have a beautiful fireplace and others have balconies
with a little terrace overlooking the golf course and with a view of the
nearby Adriatic sea. |
