ARA SUITE: |

When it housed the Discalced Carmelites and then
again since 1920, this porticoes terrace area has been a
superb place to 'chill out'. This luxury suite occupies
an entire wing of the second storey of the hotel.
Amazing quantities of light shine in on to the warm,
wood-based décor, setting off the pink walls and the
sofas in the sitting room.
The Ara Suite is unique. Its picture windows are set in
arches overlooking the main façade of the monastery on
one side and a breath-taking view of the Pyrenean
mountains and the Ara river on the other.
The carved wooden bed-head comes from the island of Bali
in Indonesia.
All the details have been carefully combined to create a
harmonious, soothing environment.

Discalced Carmelites' refectory and then the dining room
for its later owners.
The Abbot's Suite is calm, cosy, with unexpected details
that make it a favourite with honeymooners and couples.
On the first storey of the hotel, it has a spacious
ante-room with a magnificent antique desk. This leads
into a private apartment with independent sitting room,

MARGUDGUED SUITE: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
In earlier times, this suite used to be an open terrace
where people could sit and breathe in the fresh mountain
air.
Now enclosed, its Bali-island colonial style complements
the bold colours of the walls making an intriguing
interplay with the majestic architecture and landscape.
The minimalist style and natural materials used in the
enormous sitting room and the two bedrooms of the
Margudgued Suite make it supremely comfortable and
totally unforgettable.
A large suite whose spacious terrace gives breath-taking
views over the village of Margudgued, the mountain
hamlet of Guaso and Ara.
You can enjoy lounging on deep sofas or on the chaise-longue
in the reading corner. Perhaps the most unique feature
of the suite is the enormous colonial bed set in its
centre.

They are what makes the Boltaña
Monastery such a singular experience. Each room is
different in size, ceiling height and shape. Some have
their own little stairway up to a tiny sitting room and
bathroom; some are set in the eaves, with cleverly
placed windows peeping through to wonderful views...
The Monastery was built when space was never uniform.
The original shapes of its rooms have been respected to
create charmingly idiosyncratic layouts.
Each of the rooms is coloured differently. Blue, yellow
and green predominate, according to the orientation of
the room and the natural light it receives. However,
they have some things in common: spacious bedrooms,
pleasantly oriented natural light and all modern
conveniences.

The Boltaña Monastery was a
charming place, but selective rehabilitation has made it
even more so… and a lot more comfortable. Contemporary
designers enjoyed designing these rooms according to the
same philosophy that imbued the original monastery and
you will enjoy staying in them. The new wing is linked
to the old one through a vaulted stone corridor hung
with tribal shields and ethnic garments.
The standard rooms are spacious and full of light.
Tastefully yet simply furnished, our idea was to make
them as welcoming and peaceful as possible.
Layout
The rooms are between 25 and 30 m² with bathroom.
Comfort & Facilities
Double bed (2,10x2 m) or
Twin beds (1,05x2 m)
In the bathroom, natural ivory-coloured Travertine
marble, toughened-glass top, twin basins, hydro-massage
shower, amenities, bathrobes, towels, slippers,
embroidered with the hotel logo. |
