The Palace Hotel do Bussaco is one of a kind!. Located in the middle of a natural park reserve, it's a marvelous representation of Portuguese Manueline style, something quite similar to Baroque. The place is a work of art every where you look. There are 64 rooms including four suites, split in three adjoining buildings: The main building, which is called Palacio, the Palacio Brazoes, which was the first annex built in early 1900’s , only one with a/c, and the Palacio Pedrinhas, built on the site of a former convent; this one, is more contemporary in style (not Baroque). Practically everybody in Portugal at least knows about Palace Hotel do Bussaco. It is visited daily by hundreds of tourists from all over. People come to visit the park and admire the astonishingly beautiful hotel building and its also beautiful gardens, which remind you of those spectacular chateau gardens you usually see only in the Loire Valley in France. The rooms of the hotel are not impressive for the most, their furniture style was in vogue during the fifties. The standard rooms are really a bit too small, so is best make an effort and book a superior room. The restaurant, the salons of the hotel and the staircase, with all their paintings and stuccoes, are truly magnificent, they make the stay the hotel absolutely worthwhile.
