Palace Hotel Villa Cortine
which sits upon the hill in the heart of the peninsula of Sirmione,
rendered immortal by the lyrics of Roman poet Catullo, dominates the
entire basin of Garda Lake. A centennial park full of rare essences and
fragrant bushes surround the neo-classic style villa erected in 1870 by
the Austrian nobileman Kurt Von Koseritz, great assessor of art and
Italian culture. The park extends on an area of 4 hectares of land that
descends toward the lake shore. It hosts nine important fountains in
mythological theme. One that stands out for its grandeur is the fountain
of Neptune which greets all guests upon arrival at the main entrance of
the Villa.
In the historic portion of Villa Cortine is conserved the rich beauty
which Von Koseritz whished to surround himself; precious marbles
transported by water from the quarries of Verona, symbolic frescos
executed by the Brera Academy, Byzantine stuccoes and polychromatic
decor offers guests the opportunity to relive splendour of the past and
the pleasure of art, above all during events that the Fest Salone
receive with enthusiasm during the season. From the second half of the
twentieth century, after a considerable structural enlargement, the
Villa was transformed into a hotel of great quality and prestige.
Palace Hotel Villa Cortine has: 40 Superior Rooms, 8 De Luxe Rooms, 4
Junior Suite and 2 Suite. The chefs, the master pastry chefs and the
kitchen staff offer a very high quality of cuisine that further to
satisfying the guests needs, allow the realization of sophisticated
dinners on the terrace of the historic villa and refined ceremonial
banquets. Lunch in the summer is served at the beach where on the coals
of a great barbeque delicious meats and daily fresh fish are prepared. |
