THE ALHAMBRA OF GRANADA

The AlhambraThe Alhambra is a wonderful castle located on a strategic point, with a view over the whole city of Granada, builded around the 8th century by the arabs. Its name means in arabic "Red Castle", and it's full of amazing decorative elements making of this place one of a kind. You can go to the Alhambra by car or public transport, but if you want to do this by foot, remember; the Alhambra is located on the top of a hill so, be ready. The view of Granada and Sierra Nevada National Park it's unique and you can visit the patios Gilded Room, Wrought Iron Grille, the Tower of the 7 Floors, the Lady's Tower and many others spaces in the Alhambra.

THE ALBAICIN (UNESCO Inheritance of Mankind)

The AlbaicinThis old Arab quarter on one of the two main hills of Granada doesn't belong to the city of 19th-century buildings and wide boulevards. It, and the surrounding gypsy caves of Sacromonte, are holdovers from an older past. The Albaicín once flourished as the residential section of the Moors, even after the city's reconquest, but it fell into decline when the Christians drove them out. This narrow labyrinth of crooked streets escaped the fate of much of Granada, which was torn down in the name of progress. Fortunately it has been preserved, as have its cisterns, fountains, plazas, whitewashed houses, villas, and the decaying remnants of the old city gate.
