Profile:
With its lovely location
and views over the
terraced gardens to the
ever changing mountains
across the bay, service
in this elegant dining
room is unfailingly
outstanding. A stylishly
restrained classicism
has characterized this
distinguished kitchen
under several famous
head chefs.
Currently Joe Ryan
occupies the role,
offering a wide choice
of dishes on a seasonal
a la carte and set
dinner menus. There is
an understandable
leaning towards local
seafood, including
lobster, but Kerry lamb,
beef, pork and local
duck do feature as well
as interesting
vegetarian dishes.

Kenmare is a charming
town nestling at the foot of the Cork and Kerry mountains in the
south west of Ireland, a haven of tranquillity, and breathtaking
scenery in one of the most natural, unspoilt environments in
Europe. The town founded in 1670 by Sir William Petty, is a planned
town and preserves many of its original features. Situated at the
head of Kenmare Bay, it is an ideal centre from which to tour the
internationally famous Ring of Kerry or the rugged Ring of Beara. The
town with a population of 2,070 people today, bustles with
restaurants, bars and is renowned for its Gourmet food, and
breathtaking scenery.
The lightly coloured shops display their
unique local crafts of jewellery, pottery, knitwear, weaving,
musical instruments and of course, the world famous lace which you
can still see being made today in the Heritage Centre. |
