Santiago de Compostella has been
declared a national landmark. With its flagstone streets, churches, and
shrines, is one of the most romantic and
historic of Spain's great cities.
You must not miss visiting the Cathedral. It
is the reason Santiago de Compostella is one world's great pilgrimage sites,
and has been for centuries. It was built between 1738 and 1750. Its
façade gathers details that can be seen along the chapels that compose the
Camino de Santiago (Santiagos road). The two towers were formerly Roman but
through refurbishments they became Barroque in 1675. |
