La Rectoral de Cobres used to be the village parsonage, built in 1729, on a hill that offers breathtaking views over the Vigo estuary and the strait of Rande, where Francis Drake once chased the stately Spanish galleons.
This exceptional historic environment is enhanced by the architecture and the art of the old stone building, with its spectacular 150 square meter granary, which today does not house grain but exhibitions and festivities.
To art and history the setting add all the peace you would like to enjoy… and activities that range from scuba diving in search of the Rande galleons, the close-by port of San Adrian de Cobres, the stone-age rock-carvings at Campo Lameiro or the extraordinary Ria de Vigo Golf Course.
The Hotel is conveniently close to the Atlantico motorway and the Vigo airport, but far enough to preserve the quiet of the eight rooms the owners have refurbished and prepared to combine comfort required by a traveler in the 20th Century with the charm of an 19th Century Galician stone mansion.
Randi and Juan, the owners, would like the Rectoral de Cobres to be much more than the typical charming country hotel: a place to enjoy, where you can practice the art of making friends… and that is how they would like their guests to remember them.
