The Relais Certosa hotel has a
long and interesting history. The building has served over the years as
the guesthouse of the
adjoining 14th Century monastery, the Certosa di Galluzzo, and later as
a patrician villa. It is set in its own 10 acre park with four tennis
courts. All the rooms overlook the magnificent park setting surrounding
them, and have a view of the Tuscan hills and the Certosa. They are
exquisitely furnished and equipped with all modern amenities, including
air conditioning, telephones, cable television and minibar. During the
warm season, gazebos are set outside for pleasant al-fresco drinks,
lunches, dinners and special functions. The intimate La Veranda
restaurant is open year-round and specializes in Tuscan country cuisine.
