A site of about fourteen
hectares in Borgloon, a lovely old town in one of the twelve
nature reserves of Belgian Limburg,
hosts Rullingen Castle, a site that visitors will be enchanted with,
unique and most inspiring. With its moat, a French
geometric garden, an adjoining Park Forest and the most valuable,
a tree orchard, the picturesque setting of the castle will surely
turn your stay into an unforgettable experience. In this gorgeous and peaceful landscape, with its sloping meadows and fertile
fields, guests are received with a warm
welcome and guaranteed an excellent service.
Furthermore this luxurious and comfortable
hotel-restaurant, has a rich history. During the Middle-Ages - under the rule
of the Counts of Loon and the Episcopacy of Liege - a fortress was built on the
very spot. The vaulted caves and the substructures are relics from that time. In
the fortified tower there was a well allowing the Counts to survive long-lasting
sieges. Nowadays, after careful and detailed renovations to maintain the harmony
with the surrounding countryside, it boasts charming salons and lounges
and a pleasant bar, the Orangerie. The
restored rooms, each of them unique, are furnished with every possible
convenience and decorated with refined paintings, and several
works of art.
Gastronomy was not left out. Rullingen Castle is a gastronomic centre par excellence,
a haven of good taste with modern culinary creations and the
highest standards of gourmet cooking. 5
beautifully restored dining rooms, set the ambience to savour the delicacies of
an
exquisite cuisine. Definitely Rullingen is an inn of rest and good taste
in a fairy-tale-like
environment. |
