The name “Sa
Contonera” comes from the Sardinian dialect and means “Roadhouse”.
The colour of this hotel is inspired by local tradition and a
collective nostalgia for the old roadhouses of the area that
were typically painted dark red. Sa Contonera is an elegant and
refined, three-star hotel, roadhouse red, situated at n.148
Viale Arbatax, near the intersection that, to the left, leads to
the tourist port of Arbatax, and to the right, towards the
splendid bay of Porto Frailis. The Hotel is in a superb location,
situated on the Eastern Coast of Sardinia and near the most
popular beaches of the area, not far from the town of Tortoli,
where there is also a small airport with the same name. This
three-star hotel was inaugurated in August 2003 after being
constructed with modern building technologies and equipped with
all possible comforts both inside common areas and rooms, as
well as outdoors. You will feel welcome as soon as you set foot
in the “Sa Contonera”, which has been designed to make you feel
right at home: cosy, refined, and comfortable. The warm hues of
the interiors alternate with primary colours that contrast the
white vaulted ceiling supported by splendid beams. Every room in
this hotels is unique and furnished with
distinctive elements, beginning with a different colour scheme
for every room, from pink to blue, from green to yellow. The
décor is inspired by strictly classic settings and sophisticated
shades of white and ivory, but accented with tastefully selected
modern elements.
