Hotel "Monumento Monasteiro de San Clodio"
was recently awarded with a medal for being the first Monument Hotel in
Galicia, is housed in the ancient Monastery of San Clodio which has been declared
a National Monument.
This is a monastery from the 15th Century with two cloisters in it. One with a
Renaissance style and the other one with a Baroque style. This place was
inhabited by Cistercian monks and later by Benedictines. The hotel was
perfectly repaired and became a four star hotel in 1999 but keeping the
original beauty and structure of the monastery.
This Hotel is set in
Leiro, a small dot on the maps of Galician's varied countryside. However,
this dot has now taken on a greater importance on the tourist routes due
to the opening of the hotel.
There are 21 double rooms and 4 suites with living rooms, all decorated
with classical style furniture, carpets and canopies in the finest
