The San Roque Golf Club is a golf hotel with a spectacular 18 hole golf
course designed by David Thomas, which is part of the Spanish Golf
Golden Triangle, formed together with the Alcaidesa, Sotogrande and
famous Valderrama courses. It was in this later one where the 1997
Ryder cup was played and The San Roque Club being so near was the
official residence of the U. S. and European teams playing the Cup
at Valderrama.
The centrepiece is the former home of the Domecq sherry dynasty, now
converted into a beautifully designed hotel.
With 100 guest rooms and suites, this luxury resort boasts all the
luxury facilities, including two restaurants, a lagoon pool, tennis
court, private beach club and superb equestrian centre.
From the Mansion, manicured paths lead to the guest’s rooms and
suites, all of which overlook the pool or golf course and the hills
and cork woods beyond. All rooms have private shady patios that
provide the perfect place to sit out to enjoy the view over
breakfast or that evening drink.
Here there are all the outstanding facilities and services you would
expect, dining options include Bolero, the flagship restaurant,
serving food that fuses the traditional tastes of Andalucia with the
finest regional Spanish influences.
For something more exotic, there’s Kamakura, probably Spain’s best
and most authentic Japanese restaurant offering the freshest sushi
and sashimi, tempura and teppanyaki dishes. Buganvilla meanwhile is
a summer poolside al fresco restaurant for the balmy nights - and
there are plenty of them: this part of Spain enjoys more than 300
days of sunshine each year. |
