Unlike the
classic treatment, which has pain reduction as its
primary objective, the Oriental mud ritual makes it
possible to achieve additional effects depending on the
oils applied to the skin before the clay poultice. In
particular, one can have a relaxing result (vata), a
draining one (pitta), a toning one (kapha), or a
nourishing one (tridosha). After removing the mud from
the body with a refreshing shower, the procedure
continues with immersion in an individual tub of thermal
water enriched with the chosen essence. A further
contribution is provided by aromatherapy, chromotherapy
(the colours of the room) and music therapy. The
treatment continues with drying in soft, warm bathrobes
and a relaxing rest of at least half an hour in the pool
or in one’s room, for the sweat reaction, sipping a
tisane. |
