Fishing on the lake at The Europe Hotel & Resort can be arranged from our own private pier and the approximate cost is €100 per boat (max 3 + ghillie per boat) for 2/2.5 hours of fishing, with all equipment/tackle and tuition provided. Alternatively drop a line for Brown Trout and Salmon in the River Laune which flows through the Estate at sister hotel, The Dunloe. Fishing equipment is provided without charge and the kitchen will be pleased to prepare and cook your catch for dinner that evening. The hotel can arrange the services of a ghillie to instruct and guide you to the most fruitful parts of the river, or you can simply while away a few hours by yourself, the silence only disturbed by the sound of the flowing river.
Horse Riding
The Europe Hotel & Resort is famous for its own Austrian Haflinger Ponies which can be seen grazing in the hotel grounds. Guests may enjoy complimentary horseriding along sheltered bridleways during their stay. Our Haflinger ponies are a gentle breed and are ideal for children and novice riders.

Approaching from Kerry Airport
Turn left out of the airport and continue to the end of the road into Farranfore village, there turn left, go straight through the village and continue straight to Killarney.
In Killarney you arrive at a roundabout called Cleeney Roundabout (approx 15 minutes from Kerry airport). Turn right at this roundabout (3rd exit) the N72 to Killorglin, continue straight, the entrance to Lidl supermarket will be on your right, continue straight to the NEXT roundabout (Ballydowney Roundabout). At this roundabout, take the 3rd exit signposted for N72 to Killorglin.
Stay on this road, past Killarney Golf and Fishing Club on your left continue straight on into Fossa. The Golden Nugget pub will be on your right and the Hotel Europe is directly after the Golden Nugget Put on the left hand side.
Approaching from Cork
You will arrive at a roundabout (Park Road Roundabout) with the Quality Hotel on your left hand side. Take the second exit (straight on) at this roundabout and follow this road (known locally as the Bypass Road) to the next roundabout (Cleeney Roundabout). Continue straight, over this roundabout, the entrance to Lidl supermarket will be on your right, continue straight to the NEXT roundabout (Ballydowney Roundabout) at this roundabout, take 3rd exit signposted for N72 to Killorglin.
