Drawing Room

Overlooking and giving access to the larger of the two period gardens, these rooms feature spectacular decorative plasterwork on the ceilings, and impressive carved doorcases.

The Gardens

One of the most distinctive and unusual features of The Merrion is its two landscaped period gardens, designed by Jim Reynolds the noted Irish landscape artist. The smaller of the two, known as "Lady Mornington's Garden" links The Main House to the Garden Wing. This contemporary wing completes the enclosure of the garden, so that many of the guestrooms enjoy views over the large central garden. Both gardens re-create the feel of an 18th century garden with box hedges, water features, pathways, statuary and obelisks.

The Merrion Hotel loves to welcome younger guests and always makes provisions to ensure they have a wonderful stay - from special room amenities to arranging exciting daytime activities.
The hotel offers babysitting service, cots, extra beds and of course a delicious, specially-tailored room service menu with Pooh bear (or Barbie) crockery. The staff in the Tethra Spa welcome children for a swim in the pool, providing mini-robes on request for extra cuddly comfort while the bar managers shake up delicious 'mock tails' for extra fun.
In addition to their own menus and facilities, the hotel also offers special children's amenities to ensure toddlers, children and early teens all experience the best in Merrion service.
