The Relais Tenuta del Gallo has been skilfully restored and covers an area of about 1000 square metres. It is composed of a main stone house, built applying the “amerina” ancient technique of ‘600 and in which there are most of the bedrooms and the common places, and a smaller house.
Wide and elegant common areas outline the Relais exclusivity: the restaurant, the veranda, the library with Wi-fi connection, the stateroom, the bar and the cellar with its 3200 hollows made of ancient hip-tiles to keep the bottles. The accurate Italian garden with its fragrant flower beds, an ever-green oak grove, a chestnut grove and a shadowy lake make your stay more and more pleasant.

The Relais Nun is located in the spiritual heart of Assisi, in the highest part of the historical centre with magnificent views of the both the Rocca Maggiore and Minore on the soft contours of Mount Subasio. It is an exclusive 5 star Relais that came about from the careful restoration of the ancient monastery of Saint Catherine, which was originally constructed in 1275 for a community of Benedictine nuns. Its 18 suites are situated a short distance from the center of Saint Francis’ city in a quiet natural setting. Our love for history has ensured that this ancient place has preserved the details of the mediaeval monastery, designed along the lines of Benedictine rules calling for a “human city” for individuals. Each ample room is unique, with niches, frescoes, cross-vaulted ceilings and yet with all the modern comforts of technology which pleasantly surround the body and the mind with simple elegant formality in complete harmony with the spiritual nature of the ancient stones. The clean light hues and the diaphanous consistency of the furniture are an uninterrupted dialogue between the complicity of the past and the lightness of modern design.
Nun is a refuge for the body and the mind. Nun is timeless tranquility, a place in which to rediscover one’s inner harmony.

In the very heart of Assisi, just a few metres from St. Clare’s square, you see an ancient 14th century stone arch to your left with a massive wooden Franciscan door of the 18th century. Just above the arch there is a shrine dating back to 1330 portraying Our Lady and Jesus, St. Francis, St. Clare and other two Saints, St. Biagio and St. John the Baptist, by the same painter who decorated St. Damiano cloister (another very important religious monument in Franciscan history).
