A total of 8 one bedroom apartments, with a nice size under the counter refrigerator and a two burner stove which you don’t see unless you open a cabinet. Santa Maria degli Ancilloti is owned and run by the Villa family, they started in 1994, no outside workers. Rosana the mother and her daughter Susie, do the cooking, Alessio the son, waits on the tables and bar, and Paolo the father, runs the show and helps wherever he is needed... They buy very little food outside because they produce they own wine, grow their chickens, make the olive oil and many other products. One of the advantages of Santa Maria degli Ancilloti is its location, only minutes away from many of the interesting places to visit in the wonderful region of Umbria. |

An 18th century mansion which has been in the family of its present owner since 1788, he (Francesco) is an architect who lived most of his life, first in Foligno (a nearby town) and later in Rome for twenty years. In 1996 he and his beautiful wife Tiziana decided to move to Bevagna a, small medieval village with only 4500 inhabitants, to refurbish the old family house and open it as a “Residence d’epoca”. They did a marvelous job, everything has been keep as it originally was. |

Hotel Tiferno, which is one of the oldest in Umbria (1895), has been completely restored. It is located in a small square in the historic centre of the hospitable Citta di Castello, in a XIth Century palace that was once the monastery of the church of St. Francis, which is located nearby. Tiferno was the Roman name of the town, and the hotel has preserved the original architecture of this former convent, with its ribbed vaults and large chimneys, but has also acquired a small collection of paintings by Alberto Burri, whose work is also to be seen in the museum dedicated to him. |
