The celebration in honour of St Efisio takes place in Cagliari on 1 May and consists of a procession that has distant origins. It is one of the most ancient religious celebrations in Italy and the most engaging one in all of Sardinia. Taking part in this festival is like entering the heart of a tradition that has lasted more than three centuries.
The procession commences in the Cagliari district of Stampace, where the simulacrum of St Efisio is transported through the streets of the city followed by all the faithful. The procession ends in Pula, where the statue remains for 4 days before returning to Cagliari.
Born in 1999 to protect and enhance an area of great interest, this natural park is in the area between Cagliari, Quartu St Elena, Quartucciu and Selargius.It is a wetland of international value and among the most significant in Europe, a rare example in the ecosystem world present in heavily anthropized areas, and an ideal habitat for many animal species, including the flamingo.

POOL 1: Sea oil at 37°-38°
The combination of magnesium salt with high temperature water has a vasodilatory effect that increases metabolic exchanges by osmosis thereby aiding the draining and detox effect.
POOL 2: Seawater whirlpool at 35-36°
A high temperature, pure sea water pool features whirlpools that stimulate microcirculation from the soles of the feet to the abdominal muscles and the back.
POOL 3: High saline density at 36-37°C

Per Henrik Magnus Larsson
Larsson, the Swedish champion, won the Grand Slam in 1994, beating the world number one, Pete Sampras, in the final. In the same year, together with the Swedish team, he won the Davis Cup. In 1995 he reached the pinnacle of his career: number 10 in the world rankings, and in 1997 he won his second Davis Cup.
Karel Nováček
He was one of the ten top seeds in the world. During his career, Nováček, from the Czech Republic, won thirteen singles titles and six doubles titles. In 1991 he reached number 8 in the world rankings and in 1994 he reached the final of the US Open.
Dominik Hrbatý
Hrbatý, the Slovak champion, reached the semi-finals of the French Openin 1999 and reached the pinnacle of his career in 2005: number 12 in the world rankings.
Jonas Bjorkman
Jonas is a Swedish tennis player who turned pro in 1991 and now has on his shoulders over 600 singles games. He won six singles tournaments, but mostly he won 56 doubles tournaments in his career earning over 14 million dollars in prize money. His historic partners in doubles play were Todd Woodbridge and Maks Mirny. With Sweden he has won the Davis Cup on three occasions (1994, 1997 and 1998). In doubles he won nine Grand Slams.

Ilie Năstase
One of the best international players of all time, he was one of the ’70s greats and was world number one in 1973 and 1974. He is one of only five players in the world to have won more than a hundred professional ATP titles. In 1991 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, thanks to winning seven Grand Slams, two in singles, three in men’s doubles and two in mixed doubles.

He spent sixteen fantastic years with Porto and Chelsea, leading both teams to numerous title wins. He has won the most important trophies, including two Primeira Liga cups, three Premier League cups and the 2004 and 2012 Champions League trophy. Ferreira has played 62 matches with Portugal.
Carlo Cudicini
A talent that runs in the family. The son of Fabio Cudicini the AC Milan goalkeeper, Carlo began his goalkeeping career with AC Milan, before joining Lazio and thenChelsea. He was named “Player of the Year” in the 2001-2002 season, then ITV Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season the following year.
Dennis Frank Wise
For twenty years he played as midfielder for Chelsea and England. With Chelsea he won two FA Cups, a League Cup and a UEFA Cup, becoming one of the most successful team captains.
Tore André Flo
He has played 76 times for Norway, scoring 23 goals. Flo has played for Sogndal, Tromsø and Chelsea, before becoming one of the best players in the history of Chelsea

Ettore Messina
He has had an amazing career, having coached teams ranging from Benetton Treviso to the legendary Los Angeles Lakers. Born in 1959, Ettore Messina is one of the most prominent coaches of all time and considered one of the best in the field. His highly successful debut in the Italian championship was followed in 2005 by his “first” move to CSKA in Moscow then to Spain to coach Real Madrid, and finally the move to Los Angeles to coach the legendary Lakers, an experience which prompted him to write the book “Basketball, men and other planets”. In 2012 Ettore Messina returned to Moscow. Today he leads the Italian national team and is assistant coach to the San Antonio Spurs.

With 51 England caps to date, Healey was voted Leicester’s best player in 2000. In 2002, wearing the England shirt, he won three historic matches against Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Conor O’Shea
From Ireland, after a career with the Ireland team and 39 caps, O’Shea became one of the most famous coaches, training the London Irish Rugby Club, and leading Harlequins to their first national win. Since 2016 he has been coach to the Italian national team.
Martin Osborne Johnson
Standing two metres tall, Johnson is a living legend of the England team. His wins include 5 national championships captaining Leicester, 2 Anglo-Welsh cups, 2 Heineken Cups and in 2005 an extraordinary World Cup win.

Forte Village is delighted to introduce the Chess Academy by the Russian Chess Master Anatoly Karpov where guests will be able to train throughout the summer, from July to September.
“My style? I have no style.”
This is undoubtedly one of the most famous quotations by Anatolij Karpov, World Champion at the early age of 23. He was the official world champion from 1975 to 1985 for the USSR and FIDE World Champion for Russia from 1975 to 1985.
Karpov is a real legend and chess lovers who want to discover some of the secrets of the internationally-famous strategies will be able to meet him at the Chess Academy organized by Forte Village, the resort in south Sardinia that once again is ahead of time in the search for new experiences in order to make their guests’ stay unforgettable. Monday to Friday, participants are split into two groups – beginners and more experienced players. They will have the privilege of being led by Karpov and his team through those “fast passages and slow maneuvers” that made his rivals go crazy.

The swimming course lasts one week and is offered to a maximum of 2-3 students, or in individual lessons. To make the most of the course, the lessons are divided by level of expertise:
Beginner
The 1st level is devoted to getting used to being in water, floating, breathing and elementary propulsion to get good balance and to feel naturally independent in the pool.
Intermediate
The 2nd level involves perfecting the backstroke, freestyle, dolphin crawl and breaststroke through coordination exercises.
Advanced
The 3rd level continues with perfecting the four main strokes, the start and the turn.
The teachers of the Swimming Academy at Forte Village are all professional instructors with an important competitive career behind them.

There will be a group academy, which will be structured in five days, from Monday to Friday, and individual lessons with our coaches. The academy participants will be divided into three different groups depending on the age and will receive the official kit, composed by a backpack, a Nike training shirt and a fencing glove to use during the lessons.
Margherita Granbassi
Margherita Granbassi won the gold medal at the foil 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Valentina Vezzali 7-6 in the final. Later in the tournament she also won a silver in the team’s foil event together with her team mates Elisa Di Francisca, Giovanna Trillini and Valentina Vezzali. She took the bronze medal on August 11, 2008 at the Beijing Olympics.

A variation on basketball, netball is an intense, action-packed sport, ideal for children and young people, but most of all it’s easy to learn.

Tamsin Greenway is an English netball player and member of the England national netball team since 2004. During her career she has competed at two Commonwealth Games (2006 and 2010) and one Netball World Championships (2007), collecting bronze medals at both Commonwealth Games.

Karen Helen Atkinson MBE is an English international netball player. Atkinson has represented England in netball since 1994, and was selected for the senior England team in 1997. During her international career, she has won bronze medals at three Commonwealth Games (1998, 2006 and 2010), as well as in the 1999 Netball World Championships.

Pamela Asibie Cookey is an English international netball player. She made her senior debut with England in 2004 and won a bronze medal with the England team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and a second one in 2010.

Frank “The Wise Guy” Buglioni, one of the most famous English boxers, holds the WBA Super Middleweight title. He began boxing at the age of fourteen and in 2010, and at twenty-one he turned professional. In 2016, in the first round, he defeated Olegs Fedotovs and won the world Super Middleweight title.
This is the first Magic Academy in a resort and it is headed by Marvin Berglas, a huge celebrity in the international world of magic, who will reveal his most famous tricks to Forte Village guests. The magic school lasts a week (but you can also take part in just one lesson), and every day Marvin will explain to magicians big and small a single magic trick, from the most classic with cards and coins to the more complex. When they enrol, aspiring magicians will be given a fantastic kit to start learning the magic arts and once at home they will be able to impress their guests and friends. Something even more magic? How about a private party for you and your friends in the company of Marvin. Magic can be done.

Do you love engines and speed? Then you’re fit in perfectly at the PGK Go-kart Academy that we have created with the help of our experience in the world of racing, showing new drivers how it’s done and improving the performance of drivers who are already expert at an innovative Go-kart School, with a theory and practice course.
The courses are held by professional drivers and experts, led by Paolo Gagliardini, the former 125 class Italian and European champion. There are two study and practice levels: basic for the youngest, including children with no driving experience, and competitive level for drivers who compete, to improve their skills.
Go-kart courses take place on the half-kilometre Forte Village track and focus on learning the right approach to races, on physical and mental training, and on the main notions of competitive technique.

Paolo Gagliaridi has been a three times Italian and European Kart champion.
