Once called the Villa Speyer, named for the early 20th century banking family who built it in 1901, it was later the headquarters of the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysics.
Much like the man for whom the hotel and the street is named, Villa Kennedy exudes understated elegance. JFK paid a historic visit in June 1963, just months before he died. But his legacy lives on to this day, respectfully honoured in our most distinguished residence, the Presidential John F. Kennedy Suite.

The Speyer family loved music and frequently held concerts in Villa Speyer. Their friends included composer Richard Strauss and German cellist Hugo Becker.
The building served as the Max-Planck-Institute for biophysics from 1937 until 2003. Max Planck was a German scientist who specialized in physics and quantum mechanics.

From gleaming gold and mirrored accents to splashes of jewel-bright velvets in shades of sapphire, emerald and ruby, the JFK Bar is a romantic, glamorous place to see and be seen. Located just off the lush Villa Garden, the intimate bar has long played host to Frankfurt’s visiting and local leading lights.
Channelling the vintage sophistication of the Kennedy era, live music is performed several nights a week, accompanied softly by the clinking of ice and the anticipatory rattle of the cocktail shaker.
