Relais Villa Pomela. Entering a winding gravel road lined with beautiful trees and after driving for about 3/4 of a mile, one arrives at a not too imposing structure resembling the typical old house on the hill. Upon entering that feeling totally changes, an immaculate hotel that looks as it had been opened yesterday. The building was bought by Paolo d’Amore to convert it into a luxurious hotel. Mr. Paolo d’Amore being an avid antique collector whose main business is very different (including wine producing) decided to refurbish the structure almost as a hobby. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully done. Every single piece of furniture in the hotel is an authentic antique, most of them were brought from France. all the walls display original paintings, for example, on one of the walls of a room there is a painting of Pope Pius V done in 1566, not signed but certainly done by a first rate painter of the time. But do not think that the hotel does not have modern appointments. There are sensors in the rooms which tell the main desk if the room is occupied or vacant and 85% of the rooms have Jacuzzi tubs. The restaurant is small but very nice and the menu changes every day. Noteworthy is the conference room with a beautiful 35 foot high ceiling.

Surrounded by the mountains of the Liguria Apennine and by the Padana Plain, in his turn surrounded by the Alps, Cascina Perpetua Estate is situated between Piedmont and Liguria, where hills and valleys alternate.
The farm lies in the magnificent Gavi region, where huge vineyards complete the landscape characterized by woods, glades and cultivated land, in such a geometry which appeals to the ones who stop to enjoy the view. These gentle and fascinating hills, succeeded in keeping the atmosphere and the rhythms of the country life.
Thanks to its special micro climate, this area has always been perfect to the art of making wine, born here centuries ago and today deep-rooted in the local culture and tradition.
Although the history of the owners, the D’Amore family, is linked to another commercial field, something spurred the youngest brother, Mr. Paolo D’Amore, to plant new vineyards in 1989 and then to create a farm where to produce wine from his grapes. This enterprising and brave initiative, wisely suggested by experts, led the Farm both to the greening of the vineyards and to the utilization of new technologies, though in conformity of the old tradition.
Nestled on the south-west-facing sunny slopes of the hills around Novi, Cascina Perpetua is 13 hectares with some 8 hectares planted to Cortese vines.
Thanks to the soil, rich in clay and calcium and to the particular micro climate, characterized by windy and hot summer, our Gavi, with its intense and delicate bouquet and a fresh and well-balanced taste, is destined to keep its characteristics.
We also produce two DOC red wines which found their perfect habitat in this area: Monferrato Dolcetto and Monferrato Rosso, made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
It is possible to visit the vinification and the bottling areas, as well as to taste our wines in the large tasting room, of which the ancient furniture makes the visitor live in an old fashioned country life, nowadays forgotten.
The wide windows with a view on the vineyards and on the cellar, make this tasting room a very pleasant and suggestive place.
Furthermore, Miss Clara Pianezza, our biologist, will be delighted to give any information about the vinification and to tell amusing anecdotes about the rural life traditions. On request, the Farm welcomes any kind of banquets up to 36 people.
