Overlooking the
bay of Mazzaro, an idyllically located place on the water edge, amidst lush,
sub-tropical gardens, that gently slope down to the private beach, the Villa Sant'Andrea, is a charming villa hotel, built in 1830 by an aristocratic British
family. Since the 1950's when it became one of the most exclusive hotels
in Taormina, it has shined among others, conserving the charm of an
antique and noble private residence. Its guestrooms and suites are all
well lit and comfortable, with
elegant furnishings and decorations each one different from the other and some
with sea-view from terraces or
balconies.
With the stunning setting of the sunset in the horizon, guests can relax with a
drink in the outside terrace. Also they can enjoy local specialties at the Sant'Andrea
restaurant, or a
sophisticated à la carte menu, in a romantic candle lit supper at the Oliviero
restaurant. For an after hours evening, the
piano bar, open until late at night, plays sweet after-dinner music.
Whether it is for its precious paintings or antiques, that embellish the
interior and make it unique in its style, or for its great care in details,
it is certain that since the beginning, this hotel has drawn many artists, intellectuals and important
people to it. Once and again they have returned for another elegant, unforgettable
vacation.
