The Hotel Villa Zuccari, in the San Luca district of Montefalco, is a large country house. The building’s oldest wing dates back to the late 16th century while the facade and the general layout date back to the 1800’s. The oldest part of the house, which up to thirty years ago housed a wine cellar, is where the restaurant currently stands. Originally, the family’s living quarters were on the large upper floor while the ground floor served as the storage area for the foods harvested from the fields and the administrative office. The villa is surrounded by centuries-old trees and grounds that extend over an area of 40,000 square metres, where guests can enjoy the 20 x 10 metre deck-level overflow swimming pool. The park, with its cypress-lined path, forest and extremely rare varieties of trees, including the Ginkgo biloba, paulownia, field maple, pink flowering horse-chestnut tree, Italian stone pine, and many more, is completely level, making it an ideal place for jogging. The 980 Meilland rose bushes offer a unique spectacle from May to October. The hotel has a spacious, enclosed car park.
This large villa, surrounded by the vineyards of Montefalco, has been the Zuccari family’s residence since the end of the 15th century. The origins of the family can be traced back to one member of the family who lived in the house in the late 15th century along with his descendent Fazio, who died in 1534. The building, the original nucleus of which currently houses the restaurant, was expanded over the centuries and is known to have been adorned in the mid-19th century.

A unique room, special place
The “tower” is the only room on the second floor. This very special junior suite is unique for its size thanks to its 41 square metre interior and 26 square metre terrace offering 360-degree views overlooking Trevi, Montefalco, Castel Ritaldi and Spoleto.
The “Sala Grande” is set amidst the 40.000-sqm park of Hotel Villa Zuccari, in the village of San Luca just near Montefalco. It overlooks a large, infinitly swimming pool witch is surrounded by thousands of roses, and at night is lit in cobalt blue. The banquet hall is decorated with wall frescoes of the Umbrian countryside, and is lit by four huge Murano chandeliers. The room can accomodate up to 250 people, with no dividing walls or columns
The restaurant at Villa Zuccari is called “Le Zuppiere” because it houses part of the owners’ large collection of 18th century soup tureens. On the walls, which are of a yellow-ochre colour, hang numerous simple serving dishes in tin and mirrors from the 1930s and 40s, another interesting curiosity.
