Activities

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Explore 26.5 km of cross-country ski trails on Maran, Praetschalp/Ochsenalp, in the Isel and on the Obersee. Should you need some help in mastering the skating or classical technique.

ICE HOCKEY/ICE SKATING

From mid November to mid April, you can step out on to the Obersee artificial ice rink or take to the ice in the Sport and Congress Centre. Expert skating instructors are available on request. The Sport and Congress Centre can also be booked for conferences and training courses from the end of June to mid April.

CURLING AND ICE STICK SHOOTING

Curling and ice stick shooting are popular activities at the outdoor artificial ice rink on the Obersee. The Arosa tourist board offers taster courses. Ask the concierge for more information.

WINTER HIKING AND SNOWSHOE WALKING

More than 40 km of specially prepared hiking and walking paths lead you directly from Arosa Kulm Hotel through the Arosa mountain landscape. All the mountain restaurants and huts are accessible to hikers. Ask the concierge for more information and walking maps.

TOBOGGANING

Fun for all the family. Toboggan runs at Prätschli train station (illuminated at night) and Tschuggenhütte–Innerarosa (Kulm). Toboggans are available free of charge at Arosa Kulm Hotel.

FREE RIDE MOUNTAIN

Feeling brave? Or just crazy? Unique in Switzerland and in the middle of the winter sports area. Pure, deep snow, not a prepared piste in sight and easy to reach by train. Meet on the terrace of the Sattelhütte lodge with its beautiful views. Free Ride Mountain – the challenge for those looking for the ultimate kick.

WITH THE TRAIN — The leisurely journey begins in Chur and passes the city walls, Malteserturm and Obertor. But the trip around town on rails soon ends as suddenly the red train enters the mountains. The Arosa train climbs 1,000 metres in just 26 kilometres. Feel like you’re floating on air as you pass over the elegant Langwieser viaduct. After an hour’s journey, you arrive in Arosa and are collected by the hotel shuttle. Make your journey even easier by letting SBB pick up your luggage from home and deliver it directly to the hotel. Our concierge will be happy to help you. (the journey time from Zurich to Arosa is about three hours) Rhaetian Railway WITH YOUR CAR — You can reach Arosa with your car from all over Europe. Take the A3 to Chur and follow the signs to Arosa. 
Approximately 45 minutes and 361 curves later, you will reach your destination. Snow chains or four-wheel drive may be required in the event of driving snow. If you would like to avoid travelling by car, you can leave your car in the multi-storey car park in Chur (Park & Ride, next to the train station, approx. CHF 10.00 per day). Taxi and limousine service available on request and according to availability. Current road conditions BY PLANE — You can arrange helicopter transfer to Arosa from all national and international airports, and including from Chur. On your arrival in Arosa, we will be happy to pick you up from the heliport with the hotel shuttle. If travelling via Zurich airport, we recommend the Zurich Airport Lounge, open since 1 December 2013.
