In 1998, Rona Mast joined the family business as a trained hotel expert in support of her mother Heidemarie Bareiss and now runs it for the second generation. In 2010 she married Karl-Eugen Engler, mayor of Badenweiler, and with Jakob, born in 2007, and Anna-Lena, born in 2011, the third generation is already practicing its first contact with the hotel world.

In 1967, the former Hotel-Pension "Siesta" with an area of 6000 square meters was acquired by the Mast-Bareiss family, who now run the Hotel Schwarzmatt as a sister hotel of the Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn. This year son Jörg saw the light of day. Mrs. Heidemarie Bareiss led the small pension at first alone and also acted at the stove of the house. Mr. Gerhard Mast was a graduate engineer in aircraft construction and was still working in his profession in the early days of "Siesta", but then came to Badenweiler to support his young wife.
The first construction phase took place in 1973, which also led to the renaming of "Schwarzmatt Hotel" to the district "Schwarzmatt." This year, daughter Rona was born, today's managing director, in 1983/84, a second major construction phase began: The Hotel-Pension "Siesta "was demolished and created a new hotel wing with rotunda architecture, including hotel lobby and underground parking.The property Akazienstrasse 3 with the stylish house Casa Rona was acquired in 2000 and allowed the subsequent merger of the two plots.
In 2005, the ground-breaking ceremony for the new sauna and wellness complex "Sano e Salvo" took place. In December 2007, Jakob Martin Mast saw the light of day; his sister Anna-Lena Mast followed him in February 2011. In 2013, the jubilee "Forty Years Black Matt - 1973 - 2013" was celebrated. Just in time for the anniversary year, the entrance hall with reception, lobby and buffet was completely redesigned at the beginning of the year and the kitchen was completely rebuilt and extended with an extension.

Via the motorway A5 Karlsruhe - Basel, exit Müllheim / Neuchâtel, then follow the slip road through Müllheim direction Badenweiler / Oberweiler on Weilertalstraße. At the sports and leisure pool turn right into Ernst-Eisenlohr-Straße. Follow this road past the East parking lot and after the inn "Wappen von Baden" turn left into Schwarzmattstraße. The hotel is located after a few meters in front of you, right up the driveway you reach our arrival parking and the main entrance of the Schwarzmatt.
By train:
The IC and ICE connections lead on the German side to Freiburg in Breisgau main station or in Switzerland to Basel Badischer station. By regional transport you have access to the station Müllheim / Baden (about 10 km from Badenweiler away). We are happy to order you a taxi at the hotel fixed price at the desired time to the station. Alternatively, you can reach us from the main train station Müllheim with the regional bus no. 111. Please get off in Badenweiler at the bus stop "Busbahnhof" - the "Schwarzmatt" is just a few meters up the road.
